Keep Your Workspace Tidy
It sounds simple, but having an untidy desk can make you feel disorganised and even stressed. Spend some time a day/week/month to tidy and arrange your workspace, getting rid of anything you don’t need or move things that can be filed away. Be ruthless, clear desk = clear mind!
It’s easy to forget to take breaks when working, especially if you’re on a roll! And although it’s usually unavoidable, it can be more unproductive than productive. If you don’t allow time to recharge and get your thoughts in order, you can become overworked and get less achieved than normal. Make a cup of tea, get some fresh air or even just take 5 minutes off at your desk – you will feel refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the day.
Remember Positive Feedback
Keep a record of positive feedback you have received. Whether it’s from a client, your boss, a colleague, or any other source, it’s very useful to remember. Write it down, note it on your phone or wherever is easily accessible if you ever need a quick pick me up.
Your concentration can be easily effected by dehydration, so it’s a good plan to keep your hydration levels up throughout the day. If needed you can set reminders on your phone to make sure you drink enough or even set a goal of 1 or 2 litres a day. Having a bad day at work isn’t great, but getting a headache is worse.

Know when to change up the tasks you’re doing! It’s important to recognise when you are no longer productive with the task at hand and need to shift your focus for a while. Taking yourself away from the issue for a bit may help you overcome the problem and can even renew your creativity and motivation levels.
